Cogeco Scraps IPTV Project; Quarterly Revenues Climb 6.9%

Canadian and US cable group Cogeco’s fiscal third-quarter consolidated revenue increased by 6.9% year-on-year to CAD496.4 million (USD465.2 million), driven by growth of 3.5% in the Canadian cable segment (Cogeco Cable), improvement of 12.2% in the American cable market (Atlantic Broadband) and a 15.3% increase in the enterprise services segment (Cogeco Data Services). Shaw’s Quarterly Revenues Inch Up 1%

Consolidated revenue at Canadian pay-TV, broadband and telephony operator Shaw Communications climbed 1% year-on-year to CAD1.34 billion (USD1.25 billion) in the three months ended 31 May 2014 – the company’s fiscal third quarter. SaskTel Turning Off EV-DO In September

Canadian provincial operator SaskTel has announced it will switch off its 3G CDMA2000 1xEV-DO mobile data network at the end of September this year, although it will continue to offer 2.5G 1x-based CDMA voice and data services for remaining compatible device users.
