Bell lights up first 8Gbps areas

Bell Canada has announced the launch of symmetrical 8Gbps fibre broadband internet access in 'eligible' districts of Toronto as previously promised, and says it will continue to expand availability of the 'Bell Fibe Gigabit 8.0' service across its footprint over the coming months. In addition to download and upload speeds of 8Gbps, the new fibre package comes with the new Giga Hub with Wi-Fi 6E, enabling Wi-Fi speeds up to two times faster for connected devices shared in the home than existing Wi-Fi 6E solutions, the operator claims.

Furthermore, Bell Giga Hub with Wi-Fi 6E is now available for customers throughout Ontario and Quebec.

In April 2022 Bell boosted its maximum fibre speed to 3Gbps in Toronto and declared that it would roll out 3Gbps connectivity in more regions across the country soon. Then, on 2 August Bell revealed that 8Gbps speeds would be available from September in selected Toronto areas.
