The OnAlert system from Invoa Solutions can be used for crisis communications, notification of hazardous weather conditions, deadline reminders, and much more.  When there is no need for emergency messages, the wallboards default to a bright and accurate display of the synchronized time and date. 

Not only is the device easy to set up, but the message creation feature is also user-friendly.  The administrator need only type a message in OnAlert’s free software and click “send.�  The custom message is then instantly displayed on wallboards throughout the campus.

The Power over Ethernet (PoE) Advantage

OnAlert plugs directly into an Ethernet jack, drawing both time updates and power from a single network connection, so no AC outlets are needed. PoE is a network standard based on IEEE 802.3af that delivers DC power to Ethernet connected devices. PoE eliminates the need for wall transformers, allows centralized UPS backup, and is fully compatible with powered and non-powered 10/100BaseT Ethernet devices. PoE can be enabled on an existing network by placing simple midspan solutions (available from most network equipment vendors) in a switch room or at an endpoint.
